![]() ![]() Snowglobe - The Story
Mouse + Flash = Christmas
This early foray into Flash was based on my 1999 Christmas cards (pictured above) that featured Wenceslas Mouse, a stuffed toy from an Eaton's promotion. He is a neat little guy. He can be unzipped in the back and turned inside out, becoming a giftwrapped present!
For the snowglobe, I just cut Wenceslas out of the background and dropped him into the globe. Don't worry, he's not cold in there! The snow seemed like a good idea at the time, but it really taxed the video processors of the day.
The music was created in a great shareware app called Midigraphy and everything came together fairly easily in Flash. Everyone thought it was cute and a tradition was begun.
The Snowglobe FAQ
Does the snowglobe goo adversely affect Wenceslas' fur?
The goo was exhaustively tested on top fashion models to ensure the safety of our little friend.
What if he has to go to the bathroom?
He wears his suit desert-style and it takes care of waste for him.
