This came into existence mainly as an experiment in illustration using the tools within Flash. A lot of Flash animations at the time (1998), while creative, used mostly rough line and flood-filled illustration. I wanted to see if a different kind of look could be achieved using soft gradients free of outlines to create a more three dimensional feel.

I tried to give the figures a more 3d isometric placement, too, with the action more compressive in space rather than simply moving from left to right.

Nightcrawler turned out pretty nicely. Don't blink, or you'll miss him!
