![]() Damian made me do it. Not Damien, the other one. The nice one.
The event was graciously hosted by ComicKazi at Northland Mall in northwest Calgary. Gerald and Co. put on a great event with generous eats and a really nice area set up for the artists. We had lots of light and available electrical outlets and the washrooms were very close by. Probably the best set-up I've ever seen in about twenty tears of conventioning and participating in similar things. (Artists alleys and such.)
It was great to finally meet everyone in person and to connect faces to names. Here are some shots of the participants:

The idea was to start with an interior page as the story seed and draw forward and backward from there, developing the story as I went along. As you can see, I did not get as far as I would have liked. Only nine pages preceding my seed page and one page following. I guess that's why I am an artist instead of a writer.
I was lucky enough to be sitting beside Damian "dorkboy" Willcox and was amazed at his ability to create on the fly. I learned a lot from him about flexibility and going with the flow. I think I plan too much.
Hope everyone else had as good a time as I did. It was great meeting you all. See you next year!
